About this Fundraiser

Promoting Health, Education, and Wholeness

In collaboration with Universidad CEPROG in Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico, Loma Linda University Students for International Mission Service (LLU SIMS) will bring together a multidisciplinary team to serve local communities through healthcare education, health assessments, and community outreach.

Working alongside Universidad CEPROG, local healthcare providers, community members, and schools, the team will support initiatives that promote preventive healthcare, strengthen health awareness, and advance whole-person care. This international mission service experience will provide students and faculty with opportunities to share their knowledge, learn from local partners, develop cross-cultural relationships, and contribute to community-centered health initiatives.

Mission service activities may include:

  • Health Education Workshops: Provide educational sessions on preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyles, wellness, and other health topics relevant to local community needs.

  • Health Assessments: Assist with appropriate health screenings and assessments in collaboration with local healthcare professionals and within the scope of each participant’s training and authorization.

  • Community-Based Health Fairs: Partner with local healthcare providers to participate in health fairs that promote health awareness, preventive care, and access to health education resources.

  • Women’s and Children’s Education Programs: Support educational initiatives focused on women’s health, maternal and child wellness, family health, and preventive care.

  • Community and School Outreach: Engage with local patients, families, students, and community members through culturally appropriate educational activities that encourage healthy practices and overall well-being.

Through this experience, LLU students and faculty will have the opportunity to serve alongside local partners, gain valuable global health experience, and develop a deeper understanding of the cultural and community factors that influence health. Guided by Loma Linda University’s commitment to service and whole-person care, the team will seek to promote physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being while building meaningful partnerships that support the health of the Palenque community.

This mission service experience reflects LLU SIMS’s commitment to compassionate service, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing health and wholeness through meaningful international partnerships.
