I was blessed
with the opportunity to visit Cap-Haitian, Haiti this past summer on a life changing mission
trip. I got the chance to make connections and bonds
with people that have impacted me so much more than I can explain. This
missions group, Helping Haitian Angels, is organized to go down to their orphanage,
called Kay Anj or “Village of Angels,” and spend time loving their children. During my
week stay I was able to learn what love truly is from these children, who have no
parents and are living in one of the poorest countries in the world, yet they so
willing to open their hearts to love strangers asking only for love in return.
Moments after meeting the kids and walking around the village I was in awe of
how love truly knows no borders and how God gave these precious kids hearts of gold. The
mission for these trips is not to build things, but to build people and children. The ultimate
goal of HHA is to change Haiti from the inside out, to raise their children to
become believers and followers of God and to become loving and caring parents
of their own. With that being said I do not believe that my job is over after
my trip this summer, before I even left the country I promised myself, along
with my Haitian angels, that I would come back again. I want to help being a
part of building these children up to change Haiti not another person to forget them. I feel called to continue serving God in this great country, to continue loving his children all over the world. This organization has opened my eyes up to the world of missions and how much of an impact that loving each other can have. I am so blessed to have to opportunity to continue serving with Helping Haitian Angels this winter. I am going to travel to Haiti for a week again during my school break and I am counting on God to provide. I am hoping to raise the $2000 needed for this trip by January 12th, 2017. To all who are willing and able to donate I am so grateful, thank you so much.
