Our precious A Door to Hope matriarch, Jeannette Gambrell, went to be in the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.  We loved Mrs. Jeannette and she loved this ministry. She especially loved her boy Xavier.  

Brent met Xavier on one of his very first trips to Haiti.  Brent was immediately drawn to this soft spoken, quiet little boy - who he knew could beat the mess out of anyone.  Brent told Mr. Glenn and Mrs. Jeanette about Xavier and all the needs of their family, and without hesitation Mrs. Jeannette said - 'We will take care of him'.  So, they began sponsoring him as a child - they helped put him thru school, feed him and his family, and Xavier quickly went from being their 'sponsored child' to their 'adopted son in Haiti'.  

Xavier loved his 'momma' and although they never were in the same country - they loved each other deeply.  Mrs. Jeannette was still taking care of him and was providing for him to go to college/trade school and for him to have a home.  It was her dream that this legacy would live on and that Xavier would know - forever - that he was loved and will be taken care of.  

So, in leu of flowers the family has asked to set up a fund specifically for Xavier to help him finish school, help provide him clothes, food, and help him to continue to have a roof over his head.  If you feel so led, you can show your love for Mrs. Jeannette by helping show love to her 'sweet boy in Haiti'.
