I'm going to Guaranda, Ecuador, Friday through Saturday, September 8-16. The area is the second least-reached part of the country, so E3's Ecuador Team has targeted it for attention.
Guaranda, a city surrounded by mountains covered with fields of crops, has few evangelical churches. The region is the second-least reached in the country. The pastors have a heart to reach not only the small mountainside farming communities outside the city, but towns nearby. Most of these towns have no church presence at all, but they are very open to hearing about how a personal relationship with God will change their lives.
I'd love for you to either serve as part of my prayer team or my financial support team. You can be a part of reaching this gospel-starved area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
The way E3 works is to partner with evangelical churches in the area who have a heart to see their area reached. Before we arrive, the pastors and church members are trained in what we do. The local church there will pick an area that needs a church. We'll get there and work with them to reach the area.
Our team will share the gospel from door to door, alongside believers from the host church. The people we visit in the selected neighborhood will more likely open their door to "hear the story" of a North American. As soon as possible during the week, we train the nationals (the local believers working with us), to share the gospel and we are just the "bait".
When someone follows Christ, we seek to disciple them in their faith and a big part of that is training them to work their networks of friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. We partner with them in that and teach them to share Christ just as we have done. They'll invite their friends into their home to hear the gospel and be discipled. Right there is the nucleus of the new church.
