It’s amazing how wonderfully God answers our prayers. In this past year, I have felt a strong calling by God to serve him in ways that I haven’t before. In trying to discover exactly what God wanted me to do, I prayed continually and kept an open mind for God to show me. In recent months my high school pastor came to me with the idea of traveling across seas for a mission trip. This is something I have wanted to do since I watched how a similar experience changed my brother.

Over six years ago, my older brother Cody traveled to India with a few adults and fellow high school students from our church. The trip’s purpose was to spread the name and word of God to people who had not yet been exposed to it before. When he came home that summer, I could immediately see a change in the way my brother looked at life. With all the positivity surrounding him, I asked him what had changed. He told me all about the things he had done and what he had learned while he was half way across the globe. He described both the harsh living conditions and the total absence of God in the area and how scary that was to see. Then he proceeded to tell me about all the things they accomplished, and how many people now had a personal relationship with God because of his group’s outreach.

As a personal mission trip became more and more of a possibility, I came to a realization that this is what God had intended me to do.

 From July 8 to July 19, 2015, God has provided a chance for me to travel to the city of Damak in Eastern Nepal with 10 other members from my Youth Group under the leadership of Sunridge Community Church and e3 Partners Ministry.

The focus of the outreach is to introduce Nepali churches to VBS (Vacation Bible School)...a strategic program that engages children in prayer, worship and the study of Jesus...developmentally geared for their young minds and hearts. Our desire is to not only reach the young people with the gospel of Christ, but to reach their parents as well...through the effort of our team members, as well as the effort of their own children who have engaged in our VBS program.

First, we ask for your prayer in three areas: for the children of Nepal; that they would be open to God’s message of salvation through Jesus Christ and willing to receive our help in daily living areas (1 John 5: 11-15, Romans 10-9),  for the team, that we would be clothed with the armor of God (Ephesians 6: 10-17),  for our witness to the people and children of Nepal; that God would be glorified by both our words and actions (Mathew 5: 16).
