Alas Media, the City of San Fernando, friends and fellow community members invite you to be a part of the sixth annual Help-Portrait, San Fernando!
Founded by Celebrity Photographer, Jeremy Cowart, Help-Portrait is an annual event where photographers from around the world give back to their local community by providing holiday portraits to families who would otherwise not be able to afford them.
This year’s Help-Portrait San Fernando will take place on Saturday, December 6th. We are already underway recruiting volunteer photographers, make-up artists and hair stylists so that we can put on a great event for very deserving families.
Our volunteers provide breakfast and snacks, offer hair and make-up, entertain children in our Kid’s Corner, photograph the families, let them select their favorite photo, print it, frame it; and walk away with a wonderful memory.
The families we service are referred to us by community organizations that work with families in need. For these families, a professional family portrait is a luxury that they cannot afford when they have pressing needs such as food, clothing and shelter.
The money raised covers the costs of items such as equipment rentals, printer paper, ink, picture frames, snacks for the families & volunteers, arts and crafts supplies, make-up, hair supplies, props, decorations and other items needed to set up for the event. Any money left over is used for the following year.
Please support this great event – a dollar, five dollars, whatever you can spare! The more money we raise, the more families we can help this holiday season. Last year, we provided portraits for 75 families. This year, we’d like to reach 100!
