How can we help the kids during this crisis?
We have had wonderful people reach out this week asking how they can help the children at the Shelter during this time. The truth is, your financial gifts are truly what we need right now.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to postpone or cancel three fundraising events so far that would have resulted in critical funds needed to care for our kids.
Our team is still here, 24/7, serving the most vulnerable children in our community.
Your gift of $10, $20, $50 or more will allow us to continue providing a safe haven and a place to heal for children who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect. If you are in a position to give, it would be greatly appreciated and put to use immediately.
We expect an increase in the need for our services.
Natural disasters and pandemics put a lot more stress on families, and when that happens there is usually an increase in violence in the home. Quarantine measures such as school closures and restrictions on movements disrupt children's routines and social support while also placing new stressors on parents and caregivers who may have to find new childcare options or forgo work. Children and families who are already vulnerable due to socio-economic exclusion or those who live in overcrowded settings are particularly at risk.
The Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter is dedicated to keeping our doors open for the children who need us most during this time of uncertainty and heightened tensions. Your financial support is crucial.
If just 20 people pledge to give $20 per month, we will meet our NWA Gives goal!
Please give today to help our kids begin the process of healing. Your gift gives them a new beginning and hope for the future.
Thank you from the kids!
