I’m excited to return to Haiti once again this year on a mission trip. Last year was my first mission trip, and I described the people as soulful, even in a country of duress. The people are hurting, hungry, and weary, yet joyful and friendly.

As you may know, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere devastated by a massive earthquake and cholera epidemic in 2010. The Chanje Movement (www.chanje.org) sends teams every month to Port-au-Prince to strengthen and rebuild the country through medical services, street evangelism, leadership conferences, building wells for clean water, child sponsorship, and much more.They are bringing a hope and a future to the children of Haiti through community transformation and revival. By building into a new generation of young women and men who will pray boldly, lead courageously and love compassionately as they face the challenges of a nation needing self reliance, self determination, integrity and interdependence.

While there, I will be part of a team caring for men, women, and children-- meeting their practical needs with resources but also sharing with them real hope in the truth and love of Jesus.

Pray for me and those with me that we will be humble servants, sensitive to the Spirit of God and His purposes.
