1000 miles = $1000 | $1 per mile

Hey y'all, we're Chris and Sara and in honor of my (Sara's) 30th coming up in a few weeks, I want to do something big, hard, and with a purpose. My idea? Bike 1000 miles in 10 days for Love Does. 

If you're not familiar with Love Does, it's a nonprofit we've loved and supported for years that was founded by author and speaker Bob Goff. Their mission is to serve those in some of the most difficult, conflict torn zones in the world including Nepal, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and more. By fighting for human rights and providing safety and education to some of the most vulnerable, they're spreading love and hope in a meaningful and authentic way.

Our goal is to raise $1000 which comes out to $1 for every mile I bike through the desserts of Arizona to the rolling hills of Texas. 

There's never a perfect time to bike 1000 miles and I'll probably never feel 100% ready, but as Bob Goff himself says: “In the end, love doesn’t just keep thinking about it or keep planning for it. Simply put: love does.” 

So that's what I'm doing-- taking a chance and risking failing but choosing to live a good story with a purpose for the benefit of others. Not every mile of the trip will be fun, but it'll always be worth it. 

I don't have crazy amounts of money to donate to Love Does myself, but I do have healthy lungs, a bike, and a few free days of time to ride 1000 miles and engage with both our online community, as well as share about Love Does' mission with those I meet along the ride. We believe in using the resources we have to make a difference in the world. For the next few days, it looks like sacrificing physically by biking through headwinds and hills to engage and inspire you.

We invite you donate what you can, even if that's $1. If you can't donate anything, please learn about the people we're biking for and share their story with others in hopes of spreading awareness for those who need a little extra care in this crazy world we live in.
