We have BIG news!

We are adopting a little girl from Eastern Europe!

Our paths crossed an almost with 3 year old with down syndrome waiting for a family. We saw her photo earlier this year and felt drawn to her. Initially we weren't sure that adopting her was possible due to birth order spacing. While she is chronologically 11 months older than our youngest child, she is developmentally younger. After requesting a birth order waiver from our home study agency, we decided to pursue this little beauty. Once we reached this decision, we felt the most peace we have felt during this entire process, and definitely believe God is directing us to her. 

Our first fundraising goal is $5000 USD to help us with the first leg of paperwork and home study so that we can bring this sweet girl home to give her the love of a family, and the health care she so needs. We have raised $1000 so far through various donations and a craft fair that Jade did. Since we have committed to bringing this little girl home, it is definitely crunch time and we need every little bit we can get. Will you help us bring our girl home? The longer she is in an orphanage, the worst her long term outcomes are. Even the best orphanage cannot replace what a family can do.

Our first big fees are as follows:

• $2500 will go to our home study
• $2500 will go to our representing agency
• $1400 will go to our dossier/facilitation team

Those who know us know that our hearts are bigger than our wallets. Adoption has been on my heart since I was a little girl. Infact, one of the first things I told Michael when we got together was "I want to adopt, and if this is going to work, it's something you have to be OK with." Fortunately for me, he has a big, nurturing heart and said yes. A few years later, here we are.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new little girl with special needs into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $32,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our daughter as she grows up.
