Getting excited for THAILAND!!!

If you've read one of these letters from me before you know what I'm about to say...I'M GOING TO THAILAND!!! You know that I'm also going to say that I can't believe I'm doing this...but it remains absolutely true.  I wouldn't trade my mission trip experiences for the world, but it's unnerving every single time I sign up for one!  Seems so crazy.  Seems like something somebody else should do - every time.  Seems easier just to stay home...

But I'm not.  So let's do this! :)

While I believe that it is completely God's will that I go, I also know that He uses the people that He's blessed me with in my life to make "going" a reality.  So before the close of this letter I'm going to be asking you to consider donating to this mission trip (I guess I just asked you though, right?).  Before you start thinking and praying about that, I do want to tell you about what you and I will be doing on the trip.  I say, "You and I," because whether you're donating or praying you are a very real part of this mission.

This year, we have the awesome opportunity to go and work alongside the local Thai church as we go into villages and college campuses that are desperate to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will also build relationships with the locals through Human Trafficking awareness, sports and other compassion ministries. 

As I'm sure you've heard on the news, through discussions with friends and families, or maybe even impacted personally; Human Trafficking is the most horrific organized crime in our society.  Today there are more slaves in the world than at any other point in human history.  Today - in 2014.

There is an estimated 27 million people in bondage around the world.  If this trip helps one person - somewhere - it's worth every single penny of the plane ride.

I have worked with children my entire adult life, and when I think about the fact that the average age of a trafficking victim is 12 years old, it makes me absolutely sick inside.  This December, I don't want to sit in front of my TV and feel sick about this atrocity. I want to GO and do something about it.  If you feel the same - please consider helping me do just that.
