Hi all,
I
am super excited to invite you on this journey! Since September I have been
studying at Westside School of Mission, Theology, and Worship to broaden my
understanding and build a closer relationship with God. After nine months of
intensive study my team and I will hop on a plane headed for Belfast, Northern Ireland where we will live for an additional two months. This is our opportunity to use
our knowledge and experience in a real world setting!
Our crew will be serving with Re:Hope
church in the heart of Belfast. Re:Hope Belfast is only a year old, which is so
cool. We’ll be able to witness the church grow from it's infancy and help build
relationships that could last for years to come.
Our mission first and foremost is
to be a blessing to the church hosting us. This means we’ll be accessible and
flexible to the requests and needs of the staff. Some of these requests will
take shape in volunteering with awesome organizations like Storehouse Belfast,
Alpha, and Teen Challenge. Storehouse Belfast is an organization that provides
food, clothing, and furniture to families in need. Alpha is a well-known
organization with the main goal of introducing people to the basics of faith in
Jesus through interactive video. Teen Challenge helps individuals of all ages
with life controlling problems such as depression and addiction. In addition,
our team will assist Re:Hope in constructing a classroom for an array of uses.
We’ll also accompany Josh (the lead pastor) to Glasgow, Scotland to visit the
original campus, Re:Hope Glasgow!
To
do this successfully, I’ll need a support team! The main way you can offer
support is through prayer. I believe prayer is extremely powerful and
possibly the biggest factor that will contribute to our success. Please pray
for our team while we serve the people of Belfast!
The second way to get involved is by supporting the
trip financially. The trip cost is $4,500. Funds will cover all
airfare, accommodations, meals, ground transportation, insurance, and incidentals.
We’ll embark on May 15th and return mid July.
Thank you for
any and all support, whether prayer or financial. I am truly grateful!
