Dear friends and family,
I am heading back to Kenya this May 27th - June 7th. Our team will be working with the same church in Msambweni, Kenya. This city is located in the southern coastal region near the Tanzanian border.
I will be visiting villages and going door to door to share my testimony of what Jesus has done in my life and point them to Jesus' love. Each afternoon we have a Vacation Bible school time with the village children. Last year I read a Bible story each day and the children eagerly listened in anticipation that they might get candy if they could answer my questions. It is exciting to see the joy on the children's faces.
By the end of the week last year I was able to lead a Bible study with a group of Muslim women. The women had watched me all week reading Bible stories to their children. One of the ladies in the group asked me if I would give them candy if they answered my questions. I was impressed by their attentive answers.
Last year I was amazed by the acceptance of the village elders to allow us to come every day for a week. They received us with excitement and the people couldn't wait for us to come visit their homes. It touched me that they wanted us to pray for them. It saddened me to see many of the elderly people have severe cataracts.
Once we have gone home, the local church will continue reaching out to the villages. Their plan is to start new churches in the villages where our teams have visited. Last year many Kenyans decided to follow Jesus and home churches were started. The Kenyan nationals now hold Bible studies at some of the homes I visited.
I am looking forward to returning to Kenya this May and visiting the village I saw last year and visiting another village. I am grateful for this opportunity. I need to raise the funds to go.
Would you consider sponsoring me? Funds can be given directly to Pure Charity or write a check to Pure Charity and I will mail it. Please pray for us and for the Kenyan people. I definitely need your prayers as I prepare and travel to this far away destination.
Blessings to you,
Bonny Grabowski
