I am sooooo excited to attend the Sole Hope Advocate trip to Uganda, Africa January 22, 2016 - January 30, 2016.

Sole Hope is a non-profit organization with a focused effort in Uganda to battle the problem of jiggers.  Jiggers are small sand fleas that burrow into the bare feet of thousands of Ugandan children who often live their lives without adequate footwear.  The result is infection, gangrene, paralysis, and occasionally amputation and even death.

I have been very involved with Sole Hope through volunteer work, raising money, raising awareness, shoe cutting gatherings, and conference presence.  I feel that traveling to Uganda to work with Sole Hope first hand at foot washing/jigger removal clinics will help me learn more about this amazing organization and develop relationships with those we are advocating for.  I feel this trip will supply the necessary tools to equip me to become a more informed and effective advocate for Sole Hope.
