We’re so excited to announce that we’re adopting baby #2!
Although we’re so excited, we have high anxiety, because we’re realizing that the costs are overwhelming!
Did you know that cost is the number one reason people do not choose to adopt? The one downfall of private adoption is that it is very expensive! To begin the process, there is a $3,000 sign on fee required, which sets you up for a private consultant. This person helps you get in contact with adoption agencies in adoption friendly states and provides your profile book to prospective moms. Once matched with a birth mom, an additional $35,000-$45,000 is required to be paid for various expenses. This includes birth mom expenses, adoption agency fees and finalization fees. Finally, the home study (down in conjunction with the consultant, costs an additional $3,000+). Although we had one completed for Jackson, they require an additional home study to be completed since it’s private vs. foster care adoption.
We hope that sharing our story will help us raise money toward bringing home baby! Thank you for checking out our profile!
