Wednesday 9/15 - Hi guys! LOOK we now have a $150,000 in matching funds - yeah!!!
I want to tell you another story that is so awesome. Last year, ALARM had trained the 'Boda-Boda" drivers and police officers about servant leadership, biblical peacemaking and reconciliation. The Boda-boda drivers provide
transportation to the locals for a fee. The two groups have always clashed where one or more of the Boda boda drivers would land in jail daily. After the training, the two groups now interface in their daily lives and support each other. The policemen's wives have
also created a "Peace Club" to help reconcile relationships in the police barracks by using their family enrichment and conflict resolution training. They have helped to keep the communities safe for the police families and children

I have just returned from a three-week trip to five countries in East Africa. Since I am new, I wanted to learn about the impact of the work that we do so I can share outcomes with YOU and my other donors.
Some of the outcomes of our trainings on servant leadership and peacebuilding have led to the multiplication of leaders in an exponential way with increased impact in reconciliation and peace withing the lives in the communities ruined by conflict and injustice.
Another exciting thing is that ALARM provides economic empowerment to women in East Africa. In Uganda, ALARM had given a cow to a widow, Jane (shown in pink) who had 10 kids. With her ALARM cow, she was able to feed her children and send them to school. She also impacted the community she lives in by sharing her cow's milk and manure for mixed farming.
When a female calf was born to Jane's cow, she gave it to another woman (shown in blue) who was also able to support her family accordingly. I was excited to attend a "presentation" ceremony where the second woman gave a new calf to the third woman, Margaret (shown in black)
I named the calf "Precious" coz she surely was!
So dear friends and family, on
September 15, 2016 (from midnight to midnight CST), please join me together with friends of ALARM as we commit together to develop servant leaders in the African Church and community who reconcile and transform lives affected by conflict and injustice. With $100,000 in matching funds available, your gift will be doubled on this special day.
One big day of giving. A lifetime of change.
