Hi! My name is Abigail Cooney and I am currently a nursing student at the University of Alabama. This spring I have the opportunity to participate in a medical mission trip with E3 and the Capstone College of Nursing to Livingstone, Zambia to hold mobile health clinics! We will be providing basic health services, as well as educating young women in the community.

Many of these women are completely unaware of what they can do or need to do to maintain a healthy female reproductive system. Most of these women do not even have access to basic feminine hygiene products such as sanitary napkins. 

When I learned that there are women in this situation, I knew that I needed to get involved! This is the perfect opportunity for me to both learn and serve at the same time. As a future nurse, female health is of particular interest of mine. Basic feminine hygiene allows these women to live healthier lifestyles and help their future children thrive.
