We have BIG news, we are HOME STUDY APPROVED! 

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total $50,000 or more. This will be our first child, so we have set a goal to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents, and provide us assistance in the event we have a disruption (see below for details). 

We are at the stage of "matching" with expecting mothers and/or birth mothers!  While this is exciting, it is the most daunting part financially!  We are now being presented to mothers, and in turn seeing applicable costs for relevant adoption scenarios. These can range from $35,000.00-$45,000.00 total. 

While we have saved for this process, we did not save possible "disruptions", meaning the mother changes her mind on her path for adoption. This can cost adoptive families $5,000- $20,000.00 in lost funds per disruption. 

This is a risk we are willing to take to open our hearts to a child joining our family, but any help and support would be most appreciated, so we can be prepared to the fullest extent possible. 

ALL MONEY SENT IS 100% TAX DEDUCTABLE AND CAN ONLY BE USED FOR ADPOTION EXPENSES 

To Understand the Costs and What You are Supporting: 

1) Home Study ($5,000.00) -- currently completed and paid

2) Hiring Attorneys (home state and birth mother state)-- Retainers paid for VA: $15,000.00 estimated total for both states. 

3) Birth mother expenses-- Varies by state (~$25,000.00)

4) Travel to and from the birth mother's state -- Varies by State (~2,000.00 for flights and hotels)

5) Disruptions-- (can average $5,000.00 to $20,000.00)
