Our Mission:
IRWP is a 15-year-old nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the integrity of the Illinois River Watershed, a region covering rapidly urbanizing Northwest Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, through public education, outreach, and the implementation of conservation and restoration practices.
By educating the public and implementing conservation and restoration practices, we can work to ensure a future where The Illinois River and its tributaries are a fully functioning ecosystem with economically productive uses that support diverse aquatic and riparian communities, meet all state and federal water quality standards, promote economic sustainability, and provide recreational opportunities.
By educating the public and implementing conservation and restoration practices, we can help to reduce flooding events, land loss from erosion, promote biodiversity of our region, and keep our water bodies safe to use recreationally as our region grows.
