Go-Near Ministry

Go-Near Ministry was started by the Taylor family while living in Kenya with a mission to mobilize people to empower the poor. Go Near Ministry partners with nationals in Nairobi to carry out the mandate “to care for widows and orphans in distress” and provide for the “least of these” who live in extreme poverty.  Whether it is playing with orphan children at ABC Center, taking care of babies in the The Nest, speaking God's word at prisons, or visiting widows at James127's sewing center - we invite you to Go Near with us.

Our Goals:

• Advocate for those in extreme poverty to community, church and school groups
• Educate in order to mobilize others to connect and serve the poor through fundraising and volunteer mission opportunities
• Partner with community leaders in the countries we serve
• Empower the poor through skill training, education and community development projects

How YOU Can Get Involved!

Volunteer Trips: Go Near Ministry  mobilizes volunteers to go to Nairobi, Kenya, to serve and partner with ministries and programs that have been established in this area. Volunteers assist faculty and students at the ABC Center, conduct programs in African schools and visit prisoners.

Sponsor A Feeding Program: Many people in Nairobi go with out food on a regular basis. We have established several feeding programs to provide a nutritious meal for school children who otherwise would not eat or be allowed to attend school.

Support Vocational Training: Go Near partners with James127 Foundation to provide sewing and jewelry training to empower women in the slums of Nairobi. Click here to find out how you can be a part of transforming lives and spreading hope through vocational training.

Help Love On Children Through Education: Go Near Ministry sponsors the Kenya Center for Disabled Children to provide a safe, nurturing educational environment plus a daily feeding program for children with disabilities in Nairobi slums. Our hope is to duplicate this model in other slum areas to provide for more children who are left behind with nowhere to go. 

Bring Water to Kenya: The goal of Sechu Village Water Project is to bring water to this community which is located in Tiata Hills of Kenya.  Families will have clean, safe water for drinking and for agriculture.
