October was a roller coaster for our dossier paperwork. We had our USCIS fingerprinting appointments and were fortunate enough to be approved the very next day! We were able to notarize our paperwork and get that immediately sent off. Unfortunately we had two documents that were rejected because the notary’s stamp didn’t match the state registery. Ironically those documents were our letters from our local police department. We were able to get that problem solved and turned around to WACAP who in turn sent it back off to the State in less than 34 hours.
Now we are just waiting for our documents to make their way through Minnesota, then onto the Secretary of State in DC, and finally to the Consulate. If all goes accordingly, our paperwork (dossier) should be in China by the end of November!
Our first grant application is due November 1st and we found another one with a December 9th deadline. Although some of the paperwork is just the boring stuff, it has been fun to write our adoption story. Best guess is that we will travel at some point Spring 2017 so we have a lot of work to do!
