We are adopting!
Adoption definitely has a special place in our hearts. We
believe we have been adopted as sons and daughters into God’s family and that
this truth is an important part of the gospel. God commanded us to take care of
orphans (James 1:27) and while not every one is called to adopt, God clearly
showed us adoption is the next step in our lives.
Since before we were even dating, Elyse told close family
and friends about her desire to adopt and specifically adopt from South Korea.
It’s been over a long journey and amazing to see God work out special details,
but here we are 10 years later, adopting from South Korea! We are excited to
finally begin the process of adoption and to eventually bring home our new son
or daughter!
First and foremost, we would appreciate prayers throughout
this journey and transition to a family of five. Luckily, we know many others
who have gone through or are going through this process of adoption, so we are
able to get lots of tips and advice! Another way you could help would be to
consider donating financially. We don’t know the exact amount it’ll cost, but
the estimate is around $40,000 (that's the lower end, too). That number definitely scares us, but we know
God is great, and no amount of money is too large for Him. We are fully leaning
on Him to provide everything we need. He is the ultimate provider!
We know our son or our daughter is in South Korea; whether
not yet conceived, growing in their birth mother’s womb, or in an orphanage. We
would have paid any amount of money to bring home our two sons, Louis and Zeke,
and we would’ve gone into debt for them. We are prepared to do the same for our
child across the ocean. God is sovereign; He knows everything! He has already
ordained us to be the parents of this child. Although we will share no
biological DNA make up, this child is 100% born of our hearts and we are
praying EVERY SINGLE DAY until we are able to board the plane holding our
child’s hand and will continue praying EVERY SINGLE DAY to thank our Lord for
the blessing of this child in our lives.
Thank you family and friends for being a part of this
adoption! It means the world to us for all the thoughts, prayers, and monetary
help. All donations are tax-deductible and go straight to the adoption agency.
Help us bring home baby Banks!
