We have BIG news!We are growing our family through adoption! Brad and I have been dreaming of having a family for years and are so excited to annou...
I have been wanting to write an update for a while and yet finding words to explain what this journey is like is a challenge.
I’ll start with expressing how grateful we are for the love and support we have received from family and friends. Our consultants name is Mustard seed and I can see why they chose the name. This journey has included some massive hurtles we never could have overcome alone. We are so grateful for Gods hand in our journey and cling to the belief he has a specific child in mind for our family and is walking with us through this journey. When we started we never would have guessed how hard the waiting stage would be. As the process progresses, we feel more and more ready and it can be difficult to be patient. We greatly underestimated how hard not having a timeline would be. Not only is the wait to be matched a huge unknown the amount of time between being matched and baby being born ranges from “stork drop” which means jump on a plane now to a 6 month match. It is a strange feeling knowing our lives could change so quickly. Each time we present our profile to an expectant mom the excitement grows and the “not yet” emails are harder to receive. While we wait we are embracing the extra time together, enjoying time with family and keeping ourselves distracted with projects around the house.
