Tonight felt like the right time to step out from the shadow of doubt + fear and let the world know our intentions to grow our family again through adoption!!!! Just to type that sentence makes me feel brave, vulnerable, and blessed beyond belief. We are so excited to step blindfolded into the unknown, and are a long, long way from the finish line. There are many details to figure out, but we know that many adoption love stories are written with the help of social media. If there is a brave expectant mama out there hoping to find us as deeply as we are hoping to find her, we are here waiting and praying for you already. Just to be completely honest I am freaking out and so scared. Standing here at the base of the mountain, it seems just too big and too tall. Almost out of reach with too many impossibilities, too many expenses, and just too risky. But the coolest thing of all is God…He is still the author and He has got this chapter all figured out and planned like He had the last one and the one before that. Our job is to be still, present, and trust. Because Jesus wins, I don’t have to carry around any guilt and shame in my story, even the parts that I wouldn’t have picked for myself. Steven and I are so excited to share just a glimpse of what the Lord has been teaching us lately. If you would have told us becoming parents again in this season of life would be our story, I wouldn’t have believed you. With many unknowns ahead, I am so thankful to have found myself in a place where I am knocked to my knees, desperate for God and His grace. We are so thankful to have so many people around us, to walk next to Steven and I as we embark in this new venture. God is all about working all things together for good and pouring out blessings, and this blessing is a sweet baby. Friends we covet your prayers as we step out in faith toward a brave mama + little one who will join our family. WE can only imagine what God has in store for us and we are honored to be called into this journey.
