As high school sweethearts who were totally chasing the American dream, words like “orphan crisis”, HIV/AIDS, and global missions weren’t really words we were throwing around at the dinner table. In 2009 after the loss of our third son, God opened our eyes to the estimated 147 million orphans worldwide. He completely wrecked us. As we pursued adoption from Africa, God gave us a deep burden and love for the people there. We knew He was calling us to lay our lives down for the Gospel and to serve the fatherless. In Proverbs 24:11-12, it says, “Rescue the perishing; don’t hesitate to step in and help. If you say, ‘Hey, that’s none of my business,’ will that get you off the hook? Someone is watching you closely, you know—Someone not impressed with weak excuses”. (MSG)
God brought our family to Malawi Africa in October 2013. We are privileged to work with a team of Malawian and American Missionaries to serve orphans and widows at Esther's House in the rural village of Madzanje. Together we are seeking to give hope through Jesus.
We are currently serving as the International Directors at Esther's House. We love the work that God has allowed us to be a part of as we advocate and build relationships with the staff, widows, and orphans in our care at Esther's House. Our team here is involved in: orphan care, family preservation, widow care, agriculture and water development, church planting and discipleship, as well as hosting short term missions teams and interns. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is at the center of all we do.
