The life of a widow in rural Ethiopia is often one of extreme poverty and hardship that is difficult for many of us in the western world to comprehend. Income generating projects help widows to become financially independent, successful businesswomen. 

Livestock projects we have funded in the past have been wildly successful. Past participants report that as their livestock multiply, the income they are earning has enabled them to send their children to school, feed their families more nutritious foods, obtain healthcare when needed, and have a more positive self image.

When you give to the Widow's Hope Livestock Project, you are giving 25 women in the rural village of Boricha an opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty. Through our local Ethiopian partner organization, FOVC (Friends of Orphans and Vulnerable Children), each woman will receive a cow and a sheep, and the training necessary to care for their animals and begin a successful livestock farming operation.
