884 million people don't have access to clean drinking water. That's three times the population of the United States. More than half of the world's hospital beds are filled with patients who have been affected by the lack of clean water. This water crisis is the leading cause of child mortality--killing
4,100 children each day,
84% of which are under the age of
14. Currently, the lack of safe drinking water, insufficient sanitation, and poor hygiene kill more people than war, famine, and AIDS
combined.
There are many important issues facing our world today,
but providing clean and safe water is the first step to ending the cycle of extreme poverty. Access to water gives a person the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life, ultimately giving them the ability to have a better future.
In Haiti alone,
5 million people live without access to clean water. Generosity Water is dedicated to changing that, one community at a time. Join us, and together we can make a difference.
