We are adopting our first child!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of 17,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

My wife Karly and I have always wanted children. We have been trying for 5 years with no success, even with fertility treatments. Over the last 3 years, my wife has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and just recently had to have heart surgery, to replace her aortic valve and put in a shunt on her aorta. She will be on blood thinners for the rest of her life. If she becomes pregnant it will threaten her life and the babies life. So we are left with little options to have children. I myself am adopted so adoption holds a special place in my heart. We are trying to adopt from Colombia to bring a child home and out of the poor living conditions.
