In the international adoption arena there are children who are considered "difficult to place". Children with Spina Bifida are on this list. About 4 years ago we were introduced to one of those children. We followed God to Ghana and brought our sweet Christabel home in January of 2015.
Fast forward 2 years. While we had not dismissed the
idea of ever adopting again, I can say that neither of us had really thought
about or discussed it with any seriousness since Christabel came home. Then, in the middle of November our social worker sent us a
request to help advocate for the placement of a child in China with Spina
Bifida and Club feet. Because his diagnoses are the same as Christabel’s our
social worker thought we could share our wealth of knowledge with this precious
boy’s potential family. She sent his photo & some information about him and
I instantly knew the minute I laid eyes on him that God did not intend for the
advocating to go any further than our home & my husband agreed. It is not
an easy thing sometimes to listen to God ask you to move & believe that He
will make a way where there seems no way! But we knew that this sweet boy has
been without a family for far too long, and if not us, then who? God did not
say it would be easy...He just said go!
Having been down this road once before we
know that our job is to go faithfully to China and let God take care of the
rest.
We have been told that this process will
move very quickly and our new son will be home within the year. [we are on track to travel in November] Giving us very little time to apply for grants and raise the funds needed. We have already been blessed with about 1/4th of the funds we need.
We have sent applications to several adoption grant agencies and it is our prayer that God will show provision in this area.
To help raise of the remainder of funds needed to make this adoption a success we have started this fundraiser on Pure Charity
