Esmat is the 12 year old son of our partner in Afghanistan. He is smart and enjoys learning. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up. 

However, because his family has moved so much, and because severe lack of resources hinder government-run schools, Esmat was only in the 3rd grade. Private school is available, but the $200 a year tuition fee is too expensive for most Afghans to afford.

Upon learning of this on a recent trip to Afghanistan, our founder, Linda Egle, gave our partner Esmat's tuition from her own pocket. Our partner enrolled him the next day telling Linda, "You have made his life!" 

Within a couple of months, Esmat has advanced three grade levels. He is now with his age group in 6th grade.

Now that Esmat is receiving a quality education, our partner has asked us to fund tuition and fees for the children of the women in our Eternal Threads tailoring courses. Above all else, they are desperate for their children to have an education. We have agreed to raise the funds for 45 Afghan girls and boys to attend school for one year.  For less than what it costs to put one student through a year of private school here in the US, we will be able to provide 45 bright young students with an education.
