"GOD HAS A BABY WITH OUR NAME ON THEM"

Knowing that "God has a baby with our name on them" has become our axiom. Thank you for the outpouring of love and support, especially during this intense week. The good news is this sweet baby girl has a family to adopt her, but it is not us. It's a bit difficult to let go of her and her family as we can't help but care deeply for them, especially as the birth mom has had a very difficult life and you just want to hug her. But this was not the child for us, and we will wait for the right baby to come along.
We trust God to work out His good and perfect will in this situation, but it has been a struggle to continually turn our emotions over to Him as they come in waves (particularly for me). However, after exhausting myself with tension over the weekend (a combination of excitement and nerves), I finally felt a strange calm the last day and a half; the power of prayer by many truly works. Thank you again for joining together with us with your prayers and love. I cannot imagine this adoption journey without having such a strong support community around us at all times, and it lifts my spirit to know you are there. It makes us look forward that much more to introducing our child to all of you and knowing the love they will feel. :)
I love how even in the difficult times, God often throws in blessings to sustain us and reassure us we are on the right track. If you've been following our posts, you've seen His faithfulness in this already. Well, over the weekend, we received one of the GRANTS we applied for! It was the "smaller" one, but at $323 it is big to us and going directly to pay down our deferred application fee. Then, last night just we found out that another family was selected for this sweet baby girl, we opened the mail to find a $1,000 check from a dear childhood friend. You all take our breath away and we can't say how grateful we are often enough. Also a huge thank you to those who have backed our online fundraiser, whether through Pure Charity or ordering Tupperware. Hope is essential and God + you give us hope and strength that this is possible.
