About this Fundraiser

Rescue1 started as a simple awareness and action campaign seeking to expose and combat all slavery. Birthed in the hearts of missionaries Daniel and Lacy Henson Tolar, R1 became a reality under the covering of Compassionate Hope Foundation and its founder, Dr. Al Henson. Rescue 1 Global is now a standalone full- fledged prevention, rescue & restoration mission and force in the Anti-trafficking world.

The Founders Daniel and Lacy Tolar both accepted a calling to enter full time, missionary service at an early age and knew that their spouse would have to exhibit similar traits, passions, and callings to a simplistic, pioneer life-style and they have truly found that in each other.

Daniel and Lacy served Lighthouse Ministries, in Antioch, TN, as the Missions Committee chairman. Together they served the church and its missionaries for 8 years. Within these years the Lord called ten family units, including themselves, into full time vocational cross-cultural missionary service to many different countries.

Through their missional journey they have lived and traveled to many places in Asia. It was in these places that they came face to face with the horrific stories of trafficking they had once only heard about. As they visited the recruiting sites and researched the elements that contribute to the prevalence of them, they discovered that poverty and anonymity keep these communities vulnerable to predators. Parents or grandparents struggling to provide will have children complete their schooling by the 4th – 6th grade and then force them to start working to provide for the family. Many will choose to send them with a recruiter to work as housekeepers or waitresses, not knowing that, once there, their children will be forced into the industry.

After a vision trip to Northern Thailand in early 2011, our team became burdened with the shared knowledge from God that this was where we should start. The area we are in leads the world as a place where children are lured, bought, tricked and stolen into the sex slavery industry. Here we found national Christians who also were burdened with the vision to address this injustice. We began to serve them, undergirding them with our support and resources (spiritual, financial, and emotional), and together we are making a difference.

Our same passionate desire for change has now spilled over into the rest of the world in areas where our partners serve: such as the Philippines, Laos, India, and even right here in the U.S.A.

Shortly after the beginning of Rescue1 we quickly became more and more aware of how widespread the issue is here in the US as we’ll. This is when God in His plan began to open our eyes to those children and women across the street the way He had already done internationally. We then began to find others working around the south east regions in the US and grew in knowledge and firsthand experience. The drastic difference between the world of trafficking in Southeast Asia and the domestic US was astounding.

However, we have embraced the challenge recognizing the road of servants is not meant to be an easy one and that these women and children here in the US deserve the same opportunity to find a safe place and hope for future as those we serve internationally. With Task Force teams and partner ministries, we see how we can and will swing the number out of the millions.”

We now are excited to share with you that we are currently able to daily serve over 180 children and dozens of women in Southeast Asia in 7 locations. As well as, women and children from multiple states here in the US. This work is only able to continue because of faith partners like you.

So, from those we represent that have been silenced by this evil for so long THANK YOU!
