It's Thursday May 2, 2019...It's been 8 months since we started our adoption journey! Crazy to think, that much time has gone by. 

Thank you for all of your support, prayers and donations through our coffee fundraiser, yard sales, baking for baby and baby bottle fundraisers. Every penny counts, and we appreciate every one we receive. We've made about $3,000 of the $50,000 needed to bring Baby Thomas home. 

A sweet friend pointed me towards this website, and so we are giving it a try to help us raise some funds for our adoption. I'm adding new grants to the list daily, but we are finding we aren't qualified for many, due to different bullet points needed. are qualified to receive. I wish everyone who wanted to adopt, was able to receive a grant, to help. But in all this sometimes defeating news, God will provide the funds needed however He sees fit, since He led us down this road. 

I'm going to start weekly updates. I'll touch on updates from our adoption. I'll also start some "adoption education" posts. Not everyone knows that there is "adoption language". That's a big topic and an important one. I'm looking forward to seeing how we are able to be blessed in this stage of our adoption process. I'll also touch on the adoption process, and anything else that comes up! If you have any topics that you'd like to see, let me know! 

So, our current update today is.....we received our sanitary checks back and they were all good to go. We had to have our well and septic/sewers tested for bacteria. The county came out and did it, and they will now be submitted for our home study.  We had our final home study visit on Saturday April 27th. All went well, and we've been reviewing the rough draft that she will finalize and submit on Friday, so we have a final home study report, to send to Faithful Adoption Consultants by the weekend. 

As of today, we are only waiting for 2 more pieces of paper, that need to come from our home study agency to give to FAC. We paid them ahead of time for the visits they will perform before finalization, after placement. So, we need a letter stating they will conduct the post placement visits, that are needed for finalization for Maryland, for court. And we also need their home study agency license, stating they are licensed in the state of Maryland for adoption home study visits. Those pieces of paper, I will receive by mail/email.
