We are excited to announce that our family is growing! We have sensed God’s call to care for the fatherless and have joyfully stepped out in faith and obedience to adopt a child from Haiti. 

As we have prayed for guidance and researched different adoption programs, our hearts were drawn to Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the northern hemisphere with 80% of its population living below the poverty level.  Haitian children are primarily orphaned or abandoned due to poverty.  One in five children in Haiti will die before their fifth birthday due to malnutrition or disease. We are prayerful that while our interaction with Haiti may begin with adoption, it will not end there. 

Psalm 68:6 says "God sets the lonely in families" and we are grateful that he has allowed us to be part of this process. While God calls us all to fulfill James 1:27 and “visit the fatherless” not all are called to adopt. Some are called to pray, some to give financially, some to go on mission trips, and some to adopt. There are many hurdles ahead as we begin this process but God has confirmed many times this call he has for us. 

 
We are stepping out on faith into a lengthy and costly endeavor. We have needs that we, in faith, are trusting our Savior to provide. One of the first needs we find ourselves up against is a financial one. While we are doing what we can to meet as much of this burden as possible, we cannot come close to the full $40,000 this process will cost from start to finish. And so, we humbly ask that you would prayerfully consider coming alongside us on this journey. 

 
Either way, would you pray for us? Pray that our financial needs are met. Pray for the little girl we hope to bring into our family. Pray for our family as we prepare to add another member to it. Pray that we have favor with the many organizations involved in bringing our child home.  Pray that we would maintain a God-perspective in this process and that we would not allow the stress, anxieties, and trials that might come to distract us from the blessing that awaits.
