About this Fundraiser

We have BIG news!

We are adopting embryos! We have been asked to adopt embryos from a wonderful couple who has also experienced infertility like us. This is an enormous answer to prayer!

What is Embryo Adoption?

Often referred to as snowflake adoption, an embryo adoption is a legal process. A family chooses to donate their frozen embryos to an adoptive couple, the embryo(s) will be implanted in the wife’s uterus and she will have the opportunity to become pregnant. When the baby is born, he or she is legally the child of the adoptive couple.

A Little About Us...

Hubs and I have been married for 15 years as of last June. Zach is 42 and I’m 41. We have a dog, Huckleberry. He’s 14 years old and great with kids, though I’m sure he’d prefer to be our only baby!

Zach is a logistics manager for a defense contractor where I also work as an executive assistant, and we have our own part time home business.

I have a large extended family with lots of nieces and nephews. We spend aa much time together as possible. Zach’s family is smaller, his parents live locally and he has a brother who lives in Oregon with his wife and son.

Our fertility journey started shortly after our wedding, and after years of multiple fertility drugs, IVFs, IUIs and 2 pregnancies resulting in miscarriages we decided to foster babies and toddlers. We knew before we were married we wanted to foster and one day adopt. We just had no idea we’d be lead to embryo adoption.

Since 2011 we have fostered 8 babies. 5 boys and 3 girls. One was a sibling set of brothers. We have loved each and every child who has came into our home. We are happy they have been reunited with their parent(s) or adopted by family, but we have loved them as if they were ours forever. Some we have maintained relationships with and some families chose to move on with their lives.

We’ve always been aware of embryo donation as a family friend had adopted this way, and recently a friend at work had connected us with their friends who had also adopted an embryo and now have a beautiful baby girl.

Having this opportunity to adopt embryos, become pregnant and give birth to a forever child(ren) is a dream come true that we could barely imagine for so long. What a blessing we’ve been given!

What’s Next for Us?

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign.

Over the next couple of weeks we will begin working on the legal process as well as having a consultation with the fertility center where our embryos are being stored, so that we can make a plan for transfer.

Many embryo adoptions cost upwards of $20,000. We have set a goal of $10,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. These funds will help to pay legal fees, medications, medical transfer of our embryos into me and travel. We will be going to a clinic out of state where our embryos are at.

It Takes a Villiage!

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. We feel blessed to have your support!
