I was honored when I was asked to go to Rwanda this Woman to Woman this July. This will be my second mission trip, and second time on the continent of Africa.
Woman to Woman is a group of life coaches, teachers,
artists, mothers, daughters, engineers, entrepreneurs and more who are coming
together to form a team that will inform, uplift, and learn from women in
Rwanda.
Rwanda is a country that
knows genocide and violence, but the Rwandan people also know healing,
reconciliation and rebuilding. To lead in the work of love, healing, and
justice, Black American women and Rwandan women are in a unique position to
learn from and equip each other and the universal church.
We will spend our time in Rwanda facilitating reciprocal
learning workshops about self-esteem with young women from the boarding school
and entrepreneurial exchange sessions with the Africa New Life women by
offering entrepreneurship and practical skills training to ensure the viability
of their businesses which will support their families and the entire community.
Here’s How You Can Help
$3727.50 covers the trip of
each participant. Any money raised above and beyond will be used to sponsor more
women in Africa New Life vocational training programs. Everyone experiences tasks that make them uncomfortable, whether that's traveling to foreign countries, or speaking in front of large groups of people. One of my discomforts is fundraising. I'm confident that God will provide each and everything that is needed for this mission. One of my best friends reminded me that He sometimes touches the hearts of others to support a great cause. If that person is you, please know no gift is to great or too small. My fundraising total on this page isn't completely up to date, but there is still room to be funded. There are 11 women going on this trip, and any funds raised over the cost of my trip will be used to help cover the cost of one of my teammates. Additionally, any funds raised over the team cost will be used to bless the women we will be spending time with in Rwanda. We are aiming to complete our fundraising by June 30.
This is an opportunity to recognize
and support the work of Black women here in America and abroad in Rwanda to
build strong communities, know their roots and be equipped as leaders,
students, and entrepreneurs.
