We are still here and still moving along in the adoption . . . which just means still waiting. Each month there is a chance we will get the call to say we have been matched with a child. This is called "Matching Morning." It is typically a Tuesday. However, it is a different Tuesday each month, so, we still never know exactly when this "Matching Morning" will happen. 

When we are matched, we will travel three months later to China. So, as of right now, it looks like we won't be bringing home our child before May. 

We are still, thankfully, at peace with the fact that we have not been matched yet. It is technically still "early" in the process in International Adoption timing. We honestly would have been surprised if we had been matched already. We anticipate with each month that passes it will most likely become a greater struggle in the waiting. We ask for your continued prayer that we would rest in God's timing of bringing our family together and that we would remain confident that He already knows this child by name. 

So, our silence has not been a result of anything negative. In some ways it unintentionally has been an indicator of two things. One: nothing exciting is really happening adoption wise. Two: we've been living present in a new season - an enjoyable one - as a little family of four. For me personally, not every season is enjoyable and/or easy to be present. We feel like we are coming out of a very difficult one filled with grief. And we know we are entering into a challenging one filled with transition and unknowns when we bring our child home. But, for the moment, we feel like we are in some sort of gift of a season, where not much is going on. And I have to admit, it's really nice. Perhaps knowing where we have been and where we are headed has helped us to receive God's gift of being present in the mundane.To receive this as an opportunity to rest.
