Not much exciting to update on . . . just letting you know we are still working hard to progress in this adoption journey :).
Since Taylor's birthday run we've been trying our best to knock out the remaining tasks required of us before we can officially be put on the list to receive a referral of a child. It's appearing to still be in the original projected time frame - bringing a child home in Spring or Summer of 2017.
Taylor's 32 mile birthday run was a special day. That's the day you helped us reach (and exceed) our fundraising goal! There is no way to describe what that day was like for Taylor and me. The words that continue to come in regards to the support are: humbling, overwhelming, touched, in awe, grateful, disbelief, our cups runneth over. To be surrounded by such an incredible crowd of people not only participating in the run or in the fun of the day, but in the meaning behind the day - it brings tears to my eyes whenever I consider it all. God is making a way for this child. God is affirming this is the path for our family. This child is wanted. This child is loved. Already. This child is His! Getting to have a front row seat to the unfolding of it all is truly a tremendous privilege.
I used to blog when Daye was little. After our first miscarriage I lost inspiration and stopped. I am wondering if this "Update" feature of the website will become a blog of sorts. Sometimes I ponder sharing more of my thoughts. Sometimes that idea overwhelms me with the amount of adoption to do's on our list that must take priority. So, I don't promise to write often or even always from the heart; but, I do find pleasure in sorting out my thoughts through written words. In time, with the urge of Jesus, I may return to sharing those online here. Adoption is a catalyst for a lot of thoughts :).
Until then . . . Please continue to pray. Please pray for our child that is most likely already born. Please pray for God's timing. Please pray for the preparing of each member of our family's hearts: Taylor's, mine, Daye's, Finley's and our child's in China.
