This is an unprecedented opportunity to encounter refugees from 40+ countries who have fled violence, war, and persecution in their homeland in search of sanctuary in Greece. Instead of sanctuary, they are finding continued suffering through dangerous, overcrowded and inhumane living conditions in local camps and abandoned buildings known as squats. They are facing the depths of despair with no glimmer of hope for better days as they wait for relocation to another country or reunification with any remaining family members. They are at the government's mercy and many of them will never be granted the asylum they are seeking. It is grim, gut wrenching, heartbreaking and seemingly hopeless.

However, through this unimaginable suffering we see the incomprehensible goodness and glory of God on display. We praise Him for using this forced migration as the means of their salvation. Join us in praying that many would put their faith in Jesus and find refuge in Him.
