Update! 8/16/2016

Quinton's candle light vigil is going to be tonight, Tuesday 8/16, at 8:30 pm. We will meet at the corner of Westlake and Hasty place, 30318 where the hit and run happened. Hope you can make it. Fox News 5 will be there and is doing a story to help apprehend the driver. 

The Funding for the funeral this Fridayl is complete, but if people still want to give everything extra will go to the Hill Family Benevolence fund to help them repair their kid's bedrooms. 

Update! 8/12/2016

Friends and family,
Thank you for your prayers and concern for Quinton Hill and his family. His heart stopped beating on its own today and his parents have entrusted him to the LORD. Very sad and tragic and we are all hurting.

He is donating many of his working organs to those in need and his parents are finding great comfort in that. He was a very healthy strong young man and the fact that his death will lead to others living longer goes right along with who he is and his giving spirit.

We will let everyone know about arrangements, but as of right now his family has a need of $6,000 to cover the expenses for a dignified burial and funeral. So far this page we set up has been able to raise $510 and the family is very thankful for that. If anyone else wants to give please do so at this time. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of everything raised (minus the transaction fees) will go to the family.

Wednesday, 8/10/2016 at 5:20 pm there was a hit and run a few blocks away from us and my dear friend and neighbor Quinton Hill was severely injured. I was in the hospital all day yesterday with him and his parents and it is not looking good. His spinal cord is severed, his brain dead, and lungs collapsed. The doctor said only a miracle could bring him back to us. He is on life support and we are all grieving hard right now.

His parents are taking the next 24 hours to decide what to do and asked me to post and ask for prayer. He is a 23 year old man full of joy and full of Jesus. He has been a part of our house church since we started last year. He is my friend. An hour before he got hit I drove by him and he was giving a dollar to a mom with a baby. He has a heart for people and is the type of guy that would give his last dollar for someone in need. He always loved and protected my kids as they played with his younger siblings (he has 10 of them). He trained hard with me at Buckhead Jiu-jitsu and was looking forward to competing in the upcoming tournament. Quinton is one of our first Jobs for Life graduates. He committed to the class and finished strong. Below is a picture of his graduation. His smile makes anyone smile. He had just gotten hired to a great new job and is scheduled to start Monday. We are all so proud of him.

We love this man and his life matters and we are all hurting pretty hard right now. We know and sense God's presence and plan and know he can be healed, but it is still hard as we wait and wonder what God is up to in all this. Please pray for the Hill family.How to Help

Please pray for the Hill family. Pray for comfort and for wisdom. Pray for healing and for a miracle, but more than anything pray for God's glory, presence and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
