27 million people are enslaved in the world today.
Between 800,000-
900,000 are trafficked across international borders every year. The U.S.
Department of State estimates that 14,500-17,500 are trafficked into
the Unites States each year. Trafficking victims have been discovered in
all 50 states. North Carolina has documented cases of both sex and
labor trafficking. Human Trafficking, also known as modern day slavery,
is a monstrous, abominable issue that is affecting countries across the
world...
...including our own.
