Hello there. My name is Patrick and since i was the age of 16 i struggled with drugs and alcohol. For a long time i thought that i was honestly going to die in my addiction. I was homeless and helplessly lost with no one to turn to. Then one day i woke up in the emergency room after a night of drinking and drugging. The doctor told me he wasnt sure how i was still alive and that i should not have been awake let alone alive. He told me that my blood alcohol level was a .39 and that .40 was legally dead. It was at that point that i knew i had to change my life. It was at that moment that i realized i seriously needed to get help. The next week I went to a program called Teen Challenge. Teen challenge is a christ centered rehabilitation center that has not only taught me how to live without those sins in my life but also given me the tools to live my life fully for Christ. through a series of "coincidence" ( God ordained events) I have now been given an opportunity to join YWAM and i haven't been more positive about what road God wants me on. I know im meant to be in full time ministry and i know this is where my future is heading. So i just want to say thank you to everyone who will be supporting me and praying for me. What is Youth With A Mission?

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.

Back when we began in 1960, our main focus was to get youth involved in missions. Today, we still focus on youth, and we also involve people aged 9 to 90. We currently have tens of thousands of staff (called “YWAMers”) and we work in thousands of teams and locations.

One of the joys of participating in YWAM is to work with people from many nations. YWAM’s staff come from nearly every country in the world, including places like Indonesia, Nepal, Mozambique, and Colombia.

Movement Discipleship Training School

Our vision is to use fitness and sport as a catalyst to empower us to reach our full potential in every area of our lives, ready to do whatever it takes to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Movement Discipleship Training School is a 5-month experience where you will grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The school is broken up into two phases. The first part of the school is three months in Boston followed by 2 months in Southeast Asia.

We believe that Jesus desires wholistic transformation of our lives! He wants our whole heart, mind, strength, and life! Together, in a family-like community, you will encounter the truth of Jesus and be challenged to apply what you are learning producing accelerated personal growth and life transformation for the glory of God!

LECTURE:

The first 3 months will be spent in Boston. Our ministry campus is located just three miles from downtown with breathtaking views of the skyline. During these first 3 months, you will glean from a different visiting teacher each week in the context of a community. Our teachers are required to have life experience in the topic they cover. Lecture content will be supplemented by times of group intercession, worship, small group, and evangelism. Each day will have a session focusing on your health and fitness.

We are partnering with a local CrossFit gym where we will be involved in a wide variety of exercises including running, biking, rowing, weightlifting, and body weight exercises. All of this will be done in a no judgment atmosphere full of encouragement and fun! Whether you are already passionate about fitness or want to take your first step towards greater health, we invite you to join us and discover the transforming power of pursuing health and fitness in a Christ-centered community!

OUTREACH:

After 3 months of transformation in Boston we will travel to Southeast Asia to partner with YWAM in Cambodia. Cambodia is less than 2% evangelical Christian and is in great need of the gospel to be preached and demonstrated with power and compassion. We will be working with an established fitness ministry in Cambodia, supporting and encouraging their work. We will learn from them as we get hands-on opportunity to serve by their side and see what God is doing to reach their city Your eyes will be opened to the vast potential of kingdom impact in the nations as you are exposed to a variety of different ministries. Additional potential ministry involvement includes evangelism, cafe ministry, fitness related ministry, teaching English, ministering to children at risk, church planting, etc.
