ABOUT THIRSTDAY
Several departments, offices, and organizations at University of Arkansas joined together to host World Water Thirstday. This one day event was designed to:
EDUCATE. Water experts from corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors will speak to students in classes and in the Connections Lounge throughout the day.
ENGAGE. Provide students with opportunities to support projects of great nonprofits working to address global water issues on Pure Charity. Students will also be able to connect with organizations regarding future employment and/or internship opportunities.
EXHIBIT. Nonprofit and government organizations will have a physical presence in the Connections Lounge to share and discuss their work. The day will conclude with a screening of
La Source, a documentary chronicling the story of two Haitian brothers - one in the US and one in Haiti - working to bring clean water to their community in Haiti. The film will be screened in the Union Theater, and Generosity Water’s CEO and producer of
La Source will introduce the film.
