I'm a little behind in providing an update - it's been a busy couple of weeks!
After receiving my finalized home study in late November, I submitted the paperwork to get the required government approvals from the US and Indian governments. My adoption agency had shared with me that the wait for approvals to be issued would be unpredictable.
I had braced myself for a long wait, so I was quite surprised when I received not one, but BOTH government approvals last week! In addition to exciting progress with adoption paperwork, I also accepted a different position at work.
Now I start a new season of waiting - the wait to be matched with my future daughter! Again, I'm prepared for a long, unpredictable wait. My adoption agency estimates "0-6 months, on average". Once matched, there's another handful of government approvals needed before I travel to bring my daughter home.
Even though the wait still seems long, I'm so encouraged by all of your support! It's been a joy to share in the excitement and anticipation with each of you, and I can't wait to provide you with the next big update!!
