We apologize for being slackers in updating our blog. We will definitely try to do a better job. First, we hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and a safe New Year!
As with many couples waiting to adopt, we absolutely are already so in love with our future little one. We are currently waiting to get matched with a birth mom. We have so much fun dreaming about if our baby will have a dark or light complexion, dark hair, red hair, or blonde, feisty or easy going, boy or girl, etc. We are looking forward to the sleepless nights (maybe remind us that we said that when our baby is three months of age lol). We are excited for each and every stage that our baby will encounter from sitting up on her own, to crawling, to standing and walking! We cannot wait to introduce our precious little one to family and friends. We are beyond excited to pray with our little one and help him develop a relationship with Jesus as he gets older. We know that we have a huge responsibility to not only teach our little one that but to mirror it in our everyday lives.
But what has really struck the both of us is how much love we have for our birth mother. Don’t get me wrong, we always had so much respect for birth mothers as they make such a brave and selfless decision. However, we didn’t realize just how much we would equally love our birth mother, again someone that we have yet to be matched with, yet to talk to, yet to get to know. We look forward to getting to know our birth mother of our baby just as much as we look forward to getting to know our baby. If the birth mother is alright with it, we would love to have an open adoption and send her pictures and letters and we will welcome visits with her and her family if she so desires. Our hearts go out to her as she is facing some tough circumstances and we hope that she knows that both she and her baby are in our prayers. We absolutely cannot wait to get to know the both of them!
