About this Fundraiser

One of the things we learned pretty quickly as we began our adoption journey is that it was going to be an expensive process. For reference, the average cost of a domestic infant adoption can range from $25-$40k! We are very thankful that the cost of our adoption through Bethany will be near the low end of this range. With our home study nearing completion, we know that our place on the waiting list as an approved family rests on the completion of our profile book and the payment of our first major “program fee”. We’d be lying if we said that didn’t give us the nervous hives! One of our biggest struggles as it became evident that we would pursue adoption was knowing that it would require a fundraiser. There aren’t many things more humbling than asking people for money. It’s uncomfortable and definitely requires vulnerability. However, one thing we’ve learned through the IFV and egg donor process is not to doubt God’s provision. The more we talked about it, the more we realized that this isn’t just asking people for their money, but it is another way people can join us in this journey to parenthood. With that said, we are very excited about our puzzle fundraiser! Here’s how it works:

-We’re going to design a 250 piece puzzle that will be displayed in our nursery. (It’s scary yet VERY exciting to think about decorating a nursery)

-As you will note from the photo, we’ve numbered 250 puzzle pieces and are asking people to “adopt” a piece for the amount listed on the piece. (e.g. piece 43 would be adopted for $43)

-When you donate for a piece (or two or three) we will write your name on the back of the piece(s). Once completed, we will put the puzzle together and will put it in a double-sided glass frame that will be displayed in the baby’s nursery. What an awesome reminder of the people who played a key piece in bringing them into our lives!

-If you would like to send a check instead, you can email us at (mperea718@gmail.com) and we can provide you our address to send a check.

-If you want to ‘adopt’ multiple pieces, be sure and let us know by including those numbers in the notes sections when filling out the Adopt Together page or in your email if you want to send a check.

We cannot express how overwhelmed we’ve been with the support and encouragement we’ve received so far. There is no doubt in our minds that the peace that we’ve felt through this entire process is a direct result of your prayers. One of the things that excites us about this process is the idea of sitting with our future child and getting to show them the names of the people who prayed for and loved them before they even knew them. If you know anyone who may be interested in partnering with us during this phase of the process, please don’t hesitate to share the information!
