Arkansas is worst in the country when it comes to senior hunger, second when talking about kids, and second worst in overall food insecurity. Reductions in food assistance programs over the past 12 months have resulted in increasing need across the state and throughout northwest Arkansas.

NWA vs HUNGER 2015 (March 12-14, 2015) will engage 3,500 people over three days to pack 1,000,000 delicious, healthy, easy-to-prepare meals that will be given to several hunger relief groups in and around northwest Arkansas. They will distribute these meals through their existing programs to our neighbors in need.



But it's not just about quantity ... it's about quality also. Chronic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes disproportionately affect people who have lower incomes. So we've designed our meals with 10g of protein per serving plus 19 vitamins and minerals to provide essential nutrition. And kids (and adults!) love it!



With $25,000, we can pack 100,000 meals at NWA vs HUNGER 2015. Yes, that's right ... just $0.25 per meal! And our 8 meal package serves an entire family a warm, delicious meal. The meal is easy to prepare: just add to boiling water and cook for 20 minutes!
