The mission of the Washington County Historical Society is to discover, preserve, and celebrate the history of Washington County, Arkansas, and to share that heritage with others.
We are located in the Headquarters House Museum which is open for guided tours during the week and FREE self-guided tours on Saturdays April - October. We host several FREE events throughout the year.
The Headquarters House was built in 1853 by Jonas and Matilda Tebbetts and is one of the oldest houses in Fayetteville.
We have recently replaced the roofing and had some work done on the basement foundation. We are now working to replace rotting boards, repair windows, and paint the house.
