Marshallese Educational Initiative is advocating for Marshallese women!

Northwest Arkansas is home to more than 12,000 Marshallese residents. MEI is partnering with local agencies to combat domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking that both targets and exists within the Marshallese community in Northwest Arkansas.

Our Goal is to raise $2,000 by April 7th to help us:  1) conduct outreach within the Marshallese community and 2) help our partner agencies better understand Marshallese culture so that they may better serve Marshallese clients. 

Every dollar we receive from this fundraiser will go into our Women's Advocacy Project and help us serve Marshallese women.

MEI is a Springdale-based nonprofit founded in 2013. We are the first nonprofit founded in Arkansas to address challenges faced by the Marshallese community. Our mission: offer educational programming that promotes Marshallese culture and facilitates dialogue between Marshallese and non-Marshallese community members.

In addition to the Women's Advocacy Program, we also offer programming geared toward Marshallese youth and elders, provide cultural competency trainings and classes to non-Marshallese who work with Marshallese clients and students, offer translation and interpreter services, and offer programming in humanities and arts.
