Since the inception of the HWOA’s scholarship program in 2000, 448 scholarships have been awarded to commendable Latino students. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000 and are awarded based on the academic excellence, community involvement, leadership skills and financial necessity of the applicants. Please allow me to share some statistical information about the HWOA scholarship program and the impact it has created among the recipients.
